Background:
Caryn is an agricultural engineer with a master's degree from the University of Natal. She is currently involved with various hydrological and system analysis studies. Caryn has also been involved with research projects through the WRC on the situation of nonrevenue water in South Africa. Caryn has been well trained from experts on the yield and planning models and other various aspects of systems analysis. She has worked on systems analysis projects involving the Orange, Vaal, Thukela, Albany Coast region, Lesotho Lowlands, Schoonspruit, Blyde and Mhlathuze river systems. Caryn has also had experience with water demand management projects; namely Ekurhuleni and Buffalo City, De Aar and Chris Hani. This involves the detailed evaluation of the systems as well as the analysis of logging results using the Sanflow and Pressmac models. Caryn has also had experience with stakeholder interaction and has been and asset on studies involving "buy in" from stakeholders more especially those in the farming community
