Background

Pieter has, since 1988, gained extensive experience in the Water Resource planning field with emphasis on system analysis studies as well as software development and maintenance. In recent years he lead multidisciplinary teams in developing strategies for water resource development in two of the most important water resource systems in South Africa.


During his 20 year career he has undertaken hydrological studies, capability assessments of existing water resource systems, determination of optimal operating rules, scheduling of augmentation schemes and operation analysis. He has presented numerous training courses and papers on the analysis and management of water resource systems.
