Background:
Zama has been involved in numerous Water Demand Management projects. She is currently the Water Demand Management Awareness Programme Manager at WRP and her work has involved collecting and collating water quality data from all the municipalities in the country as well as the development of the social components of several WDM projects undertaken by the company extending from local municipalities throughout South Africa to Tanzania. She specialises in social training and capacity building for water demand management officials and customer care centres. She is also involved with the design implementation and interpretation of KAP survey data, design of Water Conservation community awareness material, as well as the formulation of several extensive community awareness campaigns. Her work also involves the presentation of Water Conservation and Demand Management awareness workshops to communities and schools. All of the materials used are developed in-house and translated into the local languages where necessary to ensure maximum exposure within the communities. Zama has also been involved in the development of WC/WDM business and institutional plans.
