Mr. Julian Thornton has been working with SABESP in various roles since 1992. He was largely responsible for introducing and implementing the concept of advanced pressure management for water loss control to SABESP in 1996. Since then he has been responsible for many of the successful installations.

In addition to pressure management concepts, Julian has also been instrumental in bringing the latest IWA water loss modeling concepts to SABESP - providing customized software tools to efficiently model leakage levels and set realistic targets for water loss control. Julian was recently involved in validating water loss control targets and actions for the next 10-year plan which will take SABESP M through to 2018.

Julian has trained SABESP staff in awareness, analysis and control of water losses.
