Jamaica Water Minister examines Non-Revenue Water (NRW) progress in Portmore

Senator the Honourable Matthew Samuda, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation with responsibilities for water, joined the NWC MIYA teams on a scheduled site visit for the Non-Revenue Water project to the Braeton, Greater Portmore, Newlands and Waterford communities last month

Minister Samuda who was impressed by the progress and results of the NRW project said, "This is an important partnership and is pivotal to improving the efficient operations of the NWC; the partnership has yielded positive results and is worthy of being replicated across the rest of the country.”

He is also joined by Councillor for Braeton, Anthony Wint, MIYA Jamaica, Country Manager, Alvaro Ramalho, Councillor Alrick Campbell of the EdgeWater Division, Councillor Claude Hamilton of the Portmore Pines Division and Yaneke Watson Chief, Technical Director (Water, Works, Investment) in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.
 
MIYA Jamaica Country Manager, Alvaro Ramalho during the visit explained the use and functions of the state-of-the-art equipment used to gain the highest levels of efficiency for the project.
